The new productive approach that has evolved over the last few years in industries, driven mainly by the work of the Vehicle Manufacturers in the development of their direct and indirect suppliers in the pursuit of productive excellence, is currently being characterized by the intensification of the criteria for the selection and homologation of these partners, targeting them to the demanding standards of performance of world class organizations The elimination of inspection processes at the Vehicle Manufacturers has long been a challenge for these suppliers, requiring the adoption of extremely robust monitoring procedures and operating procedures to prevent any failures in fabricated products from reaching assembly lines or affecting volume of deliveries. Under these conditions, how can we ensure that internal rejection rates in production do not compromise the regularity of supplying a customer of the automobile industry (Vehicle Manufacturer) with the high demands typical of this segment? The present work has as general objective to present the influence of the readjustment of the several variables of the serial operation of Computerized Numerical Command (CNC) of a product supplied directly to a Vehicle Manufacturer, in the reduction of its internal rejection index. The following specific objectives were defined to allow the full analysis of the proposed theme: Improving the casting process through High Pressure Die Casting (HPDC) through virtual simulation (Magmasoft); Improve the concept of the device of the machining operation; Change the materials of the machining tools applied to the process; Reset machining parameters to specific product requirements. This work, realized in a medium-sized metallurgical company, operating with High Pressure Die Casting process of non-ferrous alloys (aluminum alloys) presents the methodology adopted to identify the main causes of the rejection occurrence in one of its products and the strategy for the implementation of corrective actions, considering also the procedures used and the benefits achieved with the proposed improvements.
