In milling front, the machined surface resulting from the combined action of cutting edges located on the periphery and the front face of the cutter, this usually at right angles to the axis of the tool. The milled surface is flat, without any relation to the contour of the teeth, except as against a shoulder milling. The milling front, for its high productivity, should be preferred whenever possible.
