The aim of this paper was to study the influence of pre-heating and post-weld heat treatment on the microstructure and microhardness of DIN 10CrMo910 alloy steel tubes with small dimensions, these tubes are applied for thermal exchange with high resistance to temperature and pressure. For the union of specimens was used GTAW TIG welding process, communly used in boiler maintenance, to verify the influences of pre-heating and post-weld heat treatment, three procedures were adopted: welding at room temperature, welding with pre-heating at 250° and heat treatment after welding. The microhardness profiles show, in the molten zone, an increase in the values for all adopted procedures. Micrographs of specimens were made at weld joints to acquire the features reproduced by each process adopted, which indicated distinct regions between the base metal and the thermally affected zone.
